My name is Wael Khreich and I joined Exchange Solutions in the summer of 2015. As the Lead Optimization Scientist, what role do I play here at Exchange Solutions? Well my first project was to bring a proof of concept, employing adaptive algorithms in our proprietary platform, that learn how to make optimal decisions from dynamic data through a feedback loop process (that scientific description certainly made my colleagues smile). In other words, I lead projects to ensure our clients’ programs continue to run and perform at their very best, using machine learning as the basis for ongoing optimization.
It is my opinion that data and science go hand in hand. To some, ‘big data’ is intimidating. To me it offers endless possibilities. Data – and the abundance that’s readily available today – can be cut, diced, skewed and dissected in so many fun and exciting ways. It always tells a story. And I am very excited to be adding my field of expertise to ensure that Exchange Solutions’ intelligent customer engagement programs deliver the most profitable results for our clients on an ongoing basis.
Customers are very evolutionary. Their needs, wants and preferences change, with any number of factors affecting why, and how, these may change over time. A loyalty program, a promotional offer, or even a specific reward that may engage them today, may not do so tomorrow. I’m very passionate about being the one primarily responsible for figuring out the complex algorithms that ensure our programs can ‘read’ and ‘understand’ customer behaviors and subsequently provide those customers with truly individualized incentives, all in real time.
That may all sound incredibly ‘geeky’ but I’m not all work and no play. Outside of work I enjoy figuring out the scientific configuration for complex Lego structures and chess moves. I’m kidding! While I actually do enjoy playing chess, I also enjoy exploring the great outdoors and nature. At the core of it all is spending time with my dear family, which is probably why I also thoroughly enjoy being here at Exchange Solutions, which is a family all of its very own.
