My name is Robert Jewell, and I am one of the more recent additions to the Exchange Solutions family. I am affectionately called Bob by my fellow Exchange Solution Associates, and this is precisely why I decided to join Exchange Solutions.
As a 32 year veteran of the IT industry I have had my fair share of experience in companies spanning the small to mid-sized enterprise to the enterprise-sized enterprise. However, the excitement and fast-paced nature of the smaller, innovative organization is where I feel most at home. Don’t get me wrong, I have worked on some very large and exciting projects, not least of all, leading the team responsible for commercializing the technology featured in Watson, the super computer that challenged the best-of-the-best on Jeopardy! (and won!). However, the culture of a 400,000-strong ‘family’ is very different from that of one of just over 100 Associates.
Oh and the energy levels! Whether I work with our Client Solutions Teams that work with Scotiabank on Relationship Consolidation, Hockey Canada for its Member Monetization or any of our other major brands, or any of our other departments, everyone is so dedicated to excellent client delivery. I suppose the appeal for me is how visible the energy and dedication is within a small, closer-knit environment.
There are the other aspects I love about my new job too. Some may say I’m based in Boston, but splitting my time almost equally between our two offices – Boston and Toronto – means that I am often not sure. And I love that. Toronto is such a great city!
What else can I tell you about what I do here at Exchange Solutions? Call me biased, but I truly believe that Exchange Solutions has real value to offer our clients, and I cannot wait to start making a personal impact by helping to deliver our value to even more clients, which coincidentally will also serve to help the company grow. What a win-win for me!
