Whenever I think about Sears, I am taken back in time to my childhood, when I would spend hours poring over the thick Sears catalogue that would appear on our doorstep, as if by magic. I remember being awed by all the different things you could buy from this shiny book, and tracing my fingers over particularly coveted toys.
So when I found out that Exchange Solutions was chosen to help Sears Canada update and modernize their customer loyalty program, I was excited at the chance to work with this venerable brand. Sears was transitioning from their old rewards program, which was only available on credit card purchases, to a new and improved one, where Sears Club Points are earned on any purchases made with cash, credit or debit cards.
Exchange Solutions was tasked with the challenge of helping Sears make a seamless transition from the old program to the new one, across all their channels, including the retail point-of-sale, call center and the sears.ca ecommerce site. The revised program was launched on November 16th, 2015, with a new Sears Club Rewards membership card delivered to all existing members, whose points were transferred to the new program. In addition, new members can now register for their card in Sears’ stores and through the Sears’ call center.
Now that we’ve successfully launched the new Sears Club Rewards Program, we’re excited about what’s next. As Sears Canada’s partner in loyalty, we are helping them to shape the future vision for the program, taking it into new directions and channels with our Smarter Loyalty approach.
The Sears Catalogue is still a go-to resource for me, though I’ll admit my browsing is done online and I no longer covet toys, but appliances! In fact, I’ve bought my stove, washer and dryer all from Sears recently. And now that the improved Sears Club Rewards program has launched, I can earn points on every dollar I spend (and when it’s appliances, that’s a lot of points)!
